Pretty Lights - Camp Bisco X

DJ/Producer Pretty Lights threw down an epic set to end Camp Bisco 10. In its tenth year, Camp Bisco saw record numbers with a sold out crowd of 26,000. For 3 days upstate New York showed glimpses of nostalgic Woodstock but with an Electronic/Dubstep/Bass kick.

Pretty Lights was the final act of the entire festival and brought the Grooveshark Dance Tent to a fever pitch. The atmosphere had been good all weekend with many artists commenting on the size and energy of the audience. I have no doubt that the crowd at Pretty Lights' set brought the most energy knowing the reality of life would be screaming at them from all sides in a few short hours.

I had a great time taking these official pics both from on-stage and also by the soundboard.

Arizona Desert

Arizona is beautiful. Get yourself to the American Southwest.

Napa Valley

If you are a wine lover, make your way to Napa. It really beat out my expectations. I'm anti-snobbery and this place apparently feels the same way. Great food, great landscape, great people and 'holy shit' jaw dropping wine.... We're not Italy or France yet, but we're catching up.

San Fran

A great city. As a New Yorker, it is hard to find other cities I would really love to live in. But I gotta say, San Fran left quite the impression.

The Rock - Alcatraz

Alcatraz Island. If you ever have the chance to visit, definitely do it. The audio tour was really impressive, felt like a movie... award winning stuff.

Zezão & Ciro: Contaminated Underground

Zezão has made an entire artistic career based off of one very simple design, with one very large mission. The underground sewer network in São Paulo has become Zezão's personal temple. In an effort to bring awareness to the city's forgotten and downtrodden areas, Zezão brings his art to areas with absolutely no audience. The photo documentation is the only connection his fans generally make with the underground art pieces.

Amazonia

Filming for Instituto Sou + Brasil, I spent 2 weeks in the state of Amazonas. Setting out from the small town of Labrea, our research team went 15 hours down river. Biologists spent every day quantifying the local vegetation in an effort to decide if this location would be suitable for the institutes specific needs.

Our small boat/home became our place to work, eat and sleep. Hammocks were strung across the deck each night and taken down each morning before daybreak.

Vila Madalena

Vila Madalena is a neighborhood in São Paulo that is known for its abundance of art. In the past 20 years the walls have gone through an artistic revolution and evolution. Buildings, storefronts, garage doors and even peoples homes are all fair game for the cities numerous grafiteiros.

Matilha Cultural

In a constant state of controversy, people argue if pixação classifies as vandalism or art. Often political commentary on society, the highly stylized lettering has become an iconic symbol of São Paulo.

In between feasting, Binho painted a few works for a corporate client whose purpose is to find homes for the stray dogs of São Paulo. Binho finished the base for the art projects and intended to finish them off with detail in the morning.
