As a journalist I have gotten quite comfortable behind the lens asking my subjects questions. When that role is reversed, as it has been with interviews for my Graffiti Fine Art documentary, I find it strange to say the least. For a multitude of reasons it always feels disorientating, especially when the questions being asked are routine lacking true curiosity. That is why Evan La Ruffa’s interview for his organization IPaintMyMind was such a great experience. It is rare that I come across someone just as dedicated to their questions as I am with mine. For that reason, I feel fortunate this film project has put me in touch with Evan and his organization. I hope to collaborate with them in the future and do great work together out in their hometown of Chicago.
For those interested in the documentary, this interview is far and away the most detailed I have gone into my own thoughts on the piece. Big ups and appreciation for being given the platform to discuss my own projects in this way. Please check out the article.
